A Christmas Rose Card

Known as a Christmas Rose, because it flowers from late winter into spring, this classic winter plant is actually a hellebore, which aren’t related to roses and instead belong to the buttercup family.

This design is adapted from a pencil and watercolour drawing of Helleborus niger, the Christmas Rose, by James Sowerby (1757–1822). Garden Museum collection.
