The first ever known customer complaint is also one of the most famous. A customer called Nanni sent the clay tablet to the copper trader Ea-nāṣir in the city of Ur i3770 years ago, because the copper ingots he had given to Nanni's servant were of obvious bad quality, and he kept the money Nanni had paid despite several messengers being sent through enemy territory.
Ea-nāṣir kept this eloquent, outraged letter along with other complaints and 'final reminders', but none of it seemed to put him off trading for several more years.
