The Jarrow March or Jarrow Crusade of 5th-31st October 1936, was an organised protest against the unemployment and poverty in Jarrow during the 1930s. Around 200 men, with their MP, Ellen Wilkinson, marched from Jarrow to London with a petition requesting the re-establishment of industry in the town after the closure of Palmer's shipyard.
